Aarti has been a television and print journalist for over five years. She worked at the New York Daily News, GlenRock Gazette and a variety of ethnic magazines as a staff and freelance writer. Maharaj reported for an Emmy winning news program Transit Transit News Magazine on PBS and now co-hosts a weekly show for AAGtv, an international news channel.
She holds a Masters of Arts degree in Communication and Media Studies from Fordham University and a Bachelors of Arts in Journalism. She currently serves as an Adjunct Lecturer in English and Journalism at CUNY and plans on pursuing her Ph.D in political writing.
