Carol is an award-winning medical journalist who worked for The Star-Ledger for ten years, completing medical investigations and major projects on a range of health issues. She was named Journalist of the Year by the New Jersey Press Association in April, 2008, for her medical reporting, including a series of articles that led a new law requiring hospitals to post infection rates on-line. Her stories on end-of-life issues resulted in efforts to change the way patients in New Jersey are treated in their final days. She continues to write about health for several news organizations. She is a graduate of the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
