Americans are fed up. We've had it. Enough is enough. The way things are today, and with the situation that the world is in, we Americans have been frustrated and angry for too long. Now, we're just plain fed up.
Of course you know this, because you are fed up. On the off chance that being fed up has somehow escaped you, just turn on the television news. There, on every single news channel, an anchor, pundit, politician or talk show guest with tell you in no uncertain terms that the American people are fed up.
You are fed up with a broken healthcare system. You want a solution that works. You want healthcare passed, and you want it now, because you're just so fed up.
You are fed up with Congress trying to pass a healthcare deal that no one has read or understood, and involves outright bribery of Senators. You are fed up with the bitter, back-biting partisanship of Washington. You want Democrats and Republicans to work together for the good of the country. You want to see some people go across the aisle. But they just keep sniping at each other and darn it all, you're fed up with it.
You're fed up with Tea Parties. What the heck is with those people anyway? Do we really need a crackpot splinter movement in America right now?
You're fed up with politics and thank God for the Tea Parties. Finally, a forum for everyday Americans to speak out. Because I'll tell you something about everyday Americans: they're fed up.
Here in New Jersey, we're fed up with sky-high taxes, with the state pension fund, with corrupt politicians and with that stupid Jersey Shore reality show. We want to be thought of as The Garden State, and we have that fine Princeton University, but now the world just thinks of us as a crummy beach getaway where 20 somethings wax themselves hairless and get wasted.
And if you think we're fed up in New Jersey, you ought to try the heartland. My friends, the people of the heartland are absurdly fed up. Those hardworking Americans, if they're lucky enough to have a job that keeps them hardworking, are fed up. They were sick and tired, and they've moved beyond that now, to being fed up.
You are fed up with reality TV. Sure, you watch it and all, but you're fed up with it.
You are fed up with the bailout, the stimulus, the TARP, and your plummeting home value. You are fed up with Wall Street. You have watched as Wall Street has balanced its books on the back of Main Street, and you're fed up. By the way ... the people of Main Street? Fed up.
Tonight I'll watch some news about the events of the day. And then I'll listen as all the talking heads tell me how I feel about the events of the day. I'm sure it'll be interesting, but I can guess what they're going to say.
I'm fed up.
