I think this highlights the fact that people who look at things from an abstract or academic, or theoretical standpoint vs. reality just don't get it. Apparently, Bergelson is safe behind her ivy covered brick walls at Rutgers, and wants to get her name out there. It must be nice to live there. Unfortunately, most of us don't.

The argument is not whether the planet is getting warmer or colder, what matters is whether or not we can do anything about it. That is the real argument, and an argument the AGW proponents refuse to participate in. And since AGW proponents won’t debate the carbon “crisis”, their justification for taxing and controlling industries around the world, let’s just use their own claims concerning man’s activities, as well as facts that are readily accessible, to determine the legitimacy of their case for regulating Carbon.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Control (IPCC) tells us that humans contribute 5% of atmospheric carbon concentrations, and Carbon Dioxide from man’s activities needs to be reduced to save the planet. For the sake of argument let’s accept their number of 5%.

Since we also know that the carbon dioxide currently makes-up thirty-eight one-hundredths of one percent (.0038) of our atmosphere, it is easy to do the math to determine the outcome should we do what they tell us needs to be done. In fact, lets go farther by pretending that every man, woman, child and SUV has died and use the full 5% instead of the far smaller reduction they now expect to achieve with us all stubbornly staying alive.

By multiplying 38/100 of one percent by 5% (.0038 x .05) you get the number of .00019, or 19/1000 of 1%. Now think about that. If every person disappeared off the face of the Earth we would achieve a reduction of a colorless, odorless, harmless inert gas called Carbon Dioxide by .00019 the total of all atmospheric gases. Think about it, all this nonsense about changing our atmosphere by less than nineteen one-thousandths-of-one-percent.

It’s astoundingly stupid.

Think about what they are asking us to do to change the atmosphere by far less than the number we just calculated. Think about how many jobs they are asking us to give-up for that number. Think about the freedom they are asking you to sacrifice to accomplish so little. Think about the absolute poverty they are asking the third-world to endure to achieve this insignificant statistic.

The furor over AGW is not only absurd, it shows you just how craven and dishonest the global left has become in their quest to lord over the rest of us rubes and peasants. Simple math demonstrates what an outrage this fraudulent Anthropogenic Global Warming campaign is. Too bad the press can’t do simple math.

I spent many days and hours trying to contact someone at 1-888-238-1233 and finally reached a person, who checked my status and was suppose to send me a NJ Homestead Rebate application by mail. I'm getting worried because I have not received the form and the deadline is approaching. I tried calling again, but can never reach a person on line. I tried looking at the website to download the form, but that form is not available on the website, which makes no sense. I had to go through all this last year, and just made the deadline. I've been living at the same address since 2002, and file my NJ Income tax form every year. I do not understand why I'm not on the regular list to get my Homestead Rebate the same as my roommate who get's the form every year. My address is: 16 Brookview Lane, Aberdeen, NJ 07747, Can someone respond to this email, and send me the form?

Corzine is getting desperate, same double-talk as we've seen from him in the past. Meanwhile, Daggett is beginning to look like a plant to try and siphon off some votes from Christie. Funny to hear that Corzine appointed Daggett to a job position in the past. I wasn't surprized of their "Good Buddy" relationship. After all, both Corzine and Daggett are the only ones talking about raising taxes. Another 4 years of tax increases will certainly kill NJ.

"It's hard to imagine that this land was at risk of being developed for new housing.''
If you believe that I've got a bridge I'd like to sell you...West Amwell's real estate market is weak at best. Hunterdon County is losing population. People are migrating back east to public transporation and near jobs, and the developers are joining them. Constructural Dynamics could not sell new construction housing in that area, and they know it. That's why they didn't start the development. They may have told you they bought it to develop, but if you check you won't find any developer building anywhere near East Amwell in Hunterdon County because it won't sell. NJ overpaid big time for this!
The real story is they can take other people's property away without compensation in the name of the enviornment in Hunterdon County (Highlands Act) and then over pay big time for others...that the real story.

If this is supposed to be a news piece, it fails the objectivity test in the first paragraph.

I am pretty sure "Democrat Party" is not in the AP or any other style guide, and no objective reporter would ever use that in an article.

I could have told you this play would be a waste of time. It's not the production's fault, put all the blame on the playwright.

This could do it, reduce the NJ sales and use tax to 3%. And impose it on all items and services. The cherished exemptions on clothing, food, and non-prescription drugs...GONE. Impose it as well on ALL services. Low rate, and extremely broad-based. Hotel taxes and car rental tax...GONE, just lower
their rate to match the 3% rate.
That deficit will go down bigtime. More money will flow into the state coffers.
Personal and corporate income tax rates can be lowered to retain and attract businesses and people. Think about that people. Everyone shares in the tax burden. One low rate...half of what our surrounding states charge. The tax on
food could be lowered to 2% if its such a radical idea.
You may even be able to get your property taxes under control again.

How about cutting the gas tax instead? Nobody can just go to their boss and say - well, i don't have enough money to pay for my life so you're going to have to give me a raise.

I e-mailed Corzine a simple question on what he would do reduce my property taxs that have gone up 300%. The response was "was I a registered voter:, and did I know it was only 3 weeks to cast my vote? Screw Corzine, I'll take my chances with Christie only because it can't get much worse. I should move out of this corrupt state. Corzine only associates people with big $$$$ anyway. The rest of us are on our own.

wow
no wonder
Nice point solar guy. obviously john z doesnt know anything about us or what we do...

JohnZ,

Let me educate you a little bit..if thats even possible.
1st. You're not putting more money into the economy and you need to understand why.

NJ's solar workforce is a great mix of talent. I have 'kidnapped' talent and trained them from all industries-i even have two ex union guys. We are constantly training ourselves and inproving our skill sets. My team is passionate about this industry and love what they do for a living and we have over 200 installations in 3 states. I am also proud to say that we use a non-union electrician who had previously worked with the power company for decades years.

Our electrician was the first guy to say to us- this prevailing wage BS has the IBEW written all over it along with the state reps who suckle from the union teet. This laws signed by Corzine is about greed and votes. LOOK WHO SPONSORED THE BILL. LOOK WHO SUPPORTED IT-THE BPU. There is a glass freaking wall between the BPU an the UNIONIZED UTILITY COMPANIES. Today the he utility companies in NJ CANT compete on projects for small and medium sized businesses like I can. They are cornered because NJ has an aggressive renewable portfolio standard(RPS). The one way to slow this private growth DOWN is to level the playing field and pulling something like this. Like SolarGuy said, solar business owners pay their men well. If you think a guy deserves $75 -$80+ dollars an hour to plug wires together or screw down racks to roofs you need to have f'ing head examined. This union support does one thing-RIP OFF TAX AND RATE PAYERS who indirectly fund these program from the state and BPU.

You union guys dont realize how you took work out of everyone's pocket with this brilliant move....just plain dumb. My company just started a job where the materials alone cost 3 million dollars and we will have no rebate dollars due to its size. When you tack on the paperwork and the hourly rate increases we have to deal with throughout our job classifications it made a business case go from a 5 year ROI to 7 or 8. What happens then union guys? the client says no thanks and the job WONT happen and that keeps EVERYONE out of work. Its already happened with 4 potential jobs we had in the commercial sector.

The real sad part of this for my company is that I need to trim operating and material costs We are Investing in equipment that will eliminate our increased manpower costs and make us leaner and meaner-but will probably cost me staff. We are also now for the first time considering foreign made solar panels instead of domestics. This prevailing wage bill in NJ and other states will help accelerate the import of foreign panels in place of US product. For years we have been proud to install panels made in MD, MA, and CA- now we are talking Mexico , Japan and China. Its the only way to keep these business cases sensible for commercial clients unfortunately. Thanks IBEW and the representatives of this bill that had no idea what they were signing....

Thank you for a thoughtful reflection upon civility in public discourse.
It is an essential quality of community and a necessary foundation for effective teamwork.

My group has focused on improving teamwork by improving the level of civility among coworkers. We've found that subtle rudeness in words, deeds, and facial expressions discourage people from calling upon one another at work. It undermines the team's potential, letting a lot of individual talent and information go to waste. It opens a major liability for companies that fail to address serious problems.

My experience says that people deeply appreciate civility from others at work. Respect and consideration are essential. And it's not really all that hard to realize. Our CREW process makes a big difference.
