New Jersey takes a little getting used to for some people.

A manager for stylish design house Elie Tahari complains in a $2 million claim against the company that he suffered a mental breakdown partly because his bosses banished him to outposts in the Garden State.

Thomas Horodecki, 36, — who also managed the designer's in-store shop at Saks Fifth Avenue in Midtown —said in an arbitration claim filed Wednesday that he was snubbed for raises and promotions because he is Polish and not Jewish.

His complaints got him exiled to Tahari's in-store boutiques at the Hackensack branches of Saks Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdale's, and at Neiman Marcus in Paramus, he said.

"Mentally, I just started going crazy. I had a breakdown," he said, according to the New York Post. "Depression set in. I couldn't go to work anymore. I'm presently seeing a psychologist and [I'm] on Zoloft. The traffic was horrendous on Route 4, and they are pretty bad drivers. The stores are kind of cheesy for the most part.”

Horodecki claims that in December, his depression drove him to leave work on disability. He said he is still employed and remains on disability leave.

The attitude toward New Jersey isn’t like Horodecki’s all over New York. Hereisthecity.com reports Goldman Sachs recently purchased two new private ferry boats which will shuttle some of their operations staff from midtown Manhattan to their operations center in Jersey City. The two 70ft. ferries, named the Jersey and York, were bought to ensure that employees get to work on time.

According to elietahiri.com, Elie Tahari runs a $500 million business with a global presence in more than 40 countries including 600 U.S. stores and free-standing boutiques.
