Now the Powerball lottery jackpot is closing in on a quarter of a million dollars.

After another Powerball jackpot drawing went by on Wednesday without a winner, the top prize will be taking another big jump on Saturday.

According to the game’s web site, the Powerball annuity jackpot for the drawing of February 8 will be an estimated $247 million. The cash option value is estimated at a rather huge $142.5 million. Powerball’s winning numbers for February 5 were 8, 17, 32, 57, and 59. The Powerball was 24.

The Power Play number was 3, and USA Mega reported that a ticket from South Carolina won $2 million by including that option. Tickets fro Illinois and Minnesota each won $1 million for getting the first five numbers correct without having the Powerball.

New Jersey saw one third prize winning ticket worth $10,000 sold for Wednesday’s game. That ticket was sold at a Shop-Rite in Marmora of Cape May County. According to the New Jersey Lottery web site, New Jersey had a $1 million winner in the drawing of February 1, and that ticket was sold at Sky Light Wine & Spirit, in Guttenberg of Hudson County.

The New Jersey Lottery web site reported that the February 1 drawing had a $20,000 winning ticket, which was bought at: Kimka Liquors, in Newark of Essex County. Two other tickets worth $10,000 apiece were sold at Quick Stop & Go in Colonia of Middlesex County and at a Sunoco in Keyport of Monmouth County.

Lottery Post notes that estimated jackpot values can increase by the time the actual drawing occurs. The Powerball jackpot estimate for Wednesday’s drawing was $215 million, but after all of the ticket money came in and was counted, the number had grown to $219.6 million.

Elsewhere, according to Lottery World, a $1 million winning Powerball ticket from the drawing of February 3, 2013 expired after the winner failed to claim their prize. The ticket was sold in the Bronx, and five other $1 million prizes are still unclaimed in New York.

Twelve consecutive Powerball jackpot drawings have now taken place without a winner.
