The next Powerball lottery drawing is scheduled for Dec. 24, Christmas Eve, giving local players one last chance to dream of becoming a millionaire before Christmas.

There was no Powerball jackpot winner on Dec. 21, so Saturday’s drawing will offer a $125 million grand prize and an estimated lump sum payout of $80.2 million.

The winning Powerball numbers for Wednesday, Dec. 21 were:

10 - 13 - 15 - 31 - 54  Power Ball: 18

USA Mega reported that only two players, from Florida and Missouri, were able to match the first five numbers without getting the Powerball. They each won $200,000.

Anybody would love to be a millionaire anytime, even more so for Christmas. Almost anyone. The June 29 Powerball jackpot of $77 million was won by a player in Georgia, and the person hasn’t claimed their prize yet. The trouble is, players have 180 days to claim their prizes in Georgia, and this player is looking at a deadline of Monday December 26 to avoid losing the money.

A spokeswoman for the Georgia Lottery, Tandi Reddick, told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that in Georgia, unclaimed prize money goes back into the pool for future games or promotions, and ends up being paid out to players.

According to Powerball.com, the jackpot was last won on Nov. 19 by a player from Pennsylvania. He won $37.6 million in a lump sum payout.

Philly.com reported that two recent lottery winners came from nearby Pennsylvania. A ticket purchased in Chester County won $250,000 for matching the first five numbers without the Mega Ball in Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing, while a Philadelphia player won the $225,000 jackpot in Tuesday’s Pennsylvania Cash 5 drawing.
