Reasons Charles Giles Added to List of 9/11 Scam Artists

Share on Facebook!Charles Giles of Barnegat claims that he nearly died at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 before he was saved by a Port Authority police officer.

Giles said Port Authority policeman Mark Meier helped to save him from the North Tower. But a recent investigation has found inconsistencies in Giles’ version of the story.

1.) Meier said he never saw Giles. “I never saw the person, never met the person; I was never inside the building,” Meier said, according to News 12 New Jersey. Giles, who was working for a private ambulance service, countered that he must have given the wrong shield number.

2.) Neither Giles nor Meier were on the list of people rescued at the World Trade Center. Giles has said that his health was damaged by exposure to black soot from the rubble, and local groups raised thousands of dollars to help with his medical bills and expenses, according to The Asbury Park Press.

3.) Giles’ name was connected to a 9/11 charity scam from two years ago. According to Barnegat-Manahawkin Patch, Giles allegedly brought a steel beam from the towers to the Barnegat school district for the tenth anniversary of the Trade Center attacks with the same pick up truck that was used to promote an unregistered 9/11 charity.

Bill Cox of the Barnegat School District said, "It is definitely the same truck that was used to bring the piece of steel."

4.) Further questions. “They made a movie out of those two other Port Authority cops (who were rescued), but Mark Meier saved Charlie's life, and not even a medal?’ Cox said, according to News 12 New Jersey. “It doesn’t make any sense.”
