Those crazy kids from MTV’s Jersey Shore will no longer be gracing the Seaside Heights boardwalk since the show concluded last summer. Mike “The Situation,” Vinny, JWoWW and Snooki made their presence known summer after summer with their outlandish outfits and late night antics. The borough is doing all they can to restore its local businesses along the boardwalk in order to have a profitable summer. So far the summer of 2013 has gotten off to a slow start and it could be largely in part because of the missing Jersey Shore cast. Although the Seaside Heights may be a little quieter in its first summer sans Snooki and the gang, the borough is going to miss two things: the tourists coming to get a glimpse of the casts, the money and business they brought in and the increase in summer rentals – without a doubt.
"They were a locomotive of nonstop publicity," said Danny Merk in an Asbury Park Press article. Merk runs the Shore Store, where the cast worked during the show. "It's sad the show is over. That one hour a week brought a lot of people, but we've got reruns."
Jersey Shore first aired on MTV back in December of 2009 and quickly accrued a huge following of fans as well as harsh critics.
