MOVIE REVIEW: 'Citizen Koch' Documentary Focuses on Governor Scott Walker's Fight with Unions

The documentary “Citizen Koch” does not pretend to be objective about the influence of the billionaire brothers David and Charles Koch on American politics. Filmmakers Carl Deal and Tia Lessin are colleagues of Michael Moore, as well as the award-winning creators of “Trouble the Water,” a film about the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, so we know going in that they are not fans of the Kochs. Still, I wish that “Citizen Koch” was a more cohesive, integrated report on the men themselves and on their intentions than what it is, an earnest though scattershot examination of the attempted recall of Governor Scott Walker of Wisconsin after he passed laws limiting the collective bargaining rights of public-sector workers.
