Chun Chun only entered the world several days ago, but has already made the record books.

The baby, weighing in at 15.5 pounds, has gone on record as the biggest baby born in China, according to a report in the Times of India. He arrived via caesarean section to mom, Wang Yujuan, in the city of Xinxiang in China's Henan Province.

This is the second child for Wang, 29, whose daughter, now 6, weighed 8.8 pounds at birth.

Mother and baby boy are doing fine, said Chun Chun’s father, who added that his wife didn’t do anything unusual during her pregnancy but was pleased that she gave birth to “such a big fat son.”

Chun Chun nosed out China’s previous record holders – three babies born between 2008 and 2010 – each of whom weighed 15.4 pounds.

The heaviest baby listed by the Guinness Book of World Records was a baby boy born in Ohio in 1879, who weighed 23 pounds, 12 ounces at birth. Sadly, he died 11 hours after birth.
