
One of the Spanish-speaking world's most acclaimed authors is a visiting lecturer at Princeton

Mario Vargas Llosa, the Peruvian writer and author of novels including "The Time of the Hero," "The Green House" and "Conversation in the Cathedral," was awarded the 2010 Nobel Prize in Literature on Thursday. Vargas Llosa is one of the Spanish-speaking world's most acclaimed authors.
Also, Llosa is spending this semester as the 2010 Distinguished Visitor in Princeton University's Program in Latin American Studies. He also is a visiting lecturer in Princeton's Program in Creative Writing and the Lewis Center for the Arts.
According to the Associated Press, Vargas Llosa is the first South American winner of the Nobel literature prize since Colombian writer Gabriel Garcia Marquez won in 1982 and the first Spanish-language writer to win since Mexico's Octavio Paz in 1990.
