America is truly a great country. When you get your heart broken on a nationally televised show, you can turn around and break someone else’s on the next season.

And that’s exactly what contestant Ben Flajnik plans to do on “The Bachelor" starting tonight.

Yes, Ben, the 28-year-old Californian winemaker, is back. He returns for more emotional insanity and courtship of 25 eligible ladies.

Last year, Flajnik proposed to Bachelorette Ashley Hebert who turned him down in the finale. According to People magazine, Hebert is still engaged to J.P. Rosenbaum, who also proposed during the finale.

And while I still haven’t forgiven Ashley for not stopping Ben BEFORE he got down on one knee (talk about awkward), Ben is apparently over it and learned some valuable lessons.

"I think my self-discovery was something I didn't expect. Ashley was there helping me through all that,” said Ben in an interview with the New York Daily News’ Joyce Chen.

Chen also interviewed the show’s host Chris Harrison who said that Ben’s hesitation to be the new bachelor is admirable.

"This was a long process to get him to be the bachelor but I very much respect that and I very much worry about a man or a woman that didn't think twice about doing this," said Harrison about the show.

Ben was admittedly crushed last season, but he was able to walk away with some ounce of dignity. He even left viewers with words that could be (and were, because I saw you!) posted as an angsty Facebook status.

He famously said, “Good things don’t end unless they end badly.”

Hopefully things will end well this time, at least during the premiere. According to TV Guide, Ben is in for a few early surprises. One bachelorette will ride in on a horse, one has a nervous breakdown in the bathroom, another has a diet that rivals NBC’s "Fear Factor," and one brave lady will break out into a rap. Oh yes, and there’s also at least one Grandma on this season.

The season premiere of the "The Bachelor" airs tonight at 8 p.m. on ABC.
