Danielle Staub fired but optimistic about future

NOW THAT'S FUNNY

Danielle Staub has not been asked to return for season three of "Real Housewives of New Jersey," according to Life & Style.

A spokesman from Bravo would not confirm the firing, telling Life & Style "Bravo does not comment on casting of upcoming seasons of Housewives while the current seasons are still airing."

However, Life & Style reported that an insider told them that Danielle did get fired, and that her termination came "as a complete shock to her".

Well, it's a shock to me, too. As far as anyone can tell, she may have been let go because of her sex tape(s), her racy memoir, "The Naked Truth," and her past filled with drug dealing and prostitution. Since when does that get you fired from a reality show? I thought that behavior guaranteed employment.

When initially confronted about her firing, Danielle had remained optimistic about her future, saying "Actually, I'm not even thinking about season three right now as I am considering many incredible options that have been presented to me. ...

"Right now I just want to let fans know that we have a fantastic finale coming up next week and explosive reunion shows on August 30 and September 6."

As I tried to discern what could have led to this gal losing her job, I checked out her bio. She says she is active in her parish and attends mass on Sundays. Maybe that's what did it. Who wants to see that kind of stuff on TV?

Elsewhere in the environs of Jersey reality, two cast members of "Jersey Shore," Snooki and Ronnie, have already been arrested, each for separate offenses. Ratings are higher than ever. See, those folks know how to keep their jobs.

I blame the economy. When a scandal-ridden floozy who looks like a drag queen can't keep her job on a reality show, the recession has truly hit rock bottom. Maybe the poor dear will get herself a stimulus package.

Is Life & Style really considered an accurate source of journalism? Maybe People Magazine, but not a magazine that reports on Angelina and Brad's break-up every other week and other such trash
