Audiences will get a chance to see a totally other side of Hugh Grant when he takes on six different roles in the upcoming film "Cloud Atlas," an adaptation of David Mitchell's novel of the same name.

But the British actor, who's career has included playing charming sorts in "Notting Hill," "Music and Lyrics," and "About a Boy," will be stepping way out of charcater and into the roles of killer, rapist, and cannibal.

Grant, 51, said in an interview that he'll be buried under lots of prosthetic make-up and will be hardly recognizable as the leading man with the boyish grin. Given the evil nature of his characters, that might be wise.

The movie is being directed by the Wachowski brothers, best known for their work on the Matrix Trilogy and "Speed Racer."
