Lippia returning to AC with 'Sinatra and Friends'

lippiaa041609_optSteve Lippia returns this spring to Atlantic City, where he debuted to an unprecedented SRO spillover audience for a solid 12-week run nearly a decade ago. This time out, Steve plays the Theater at the AC Hilton for a limited engagement May 3 through 7.

With his uncanny Sinatra sound and romantic interpretation of the classic Frank Sinatra songbook, Steve Lippia created an early sensation, appealing to audiences here and abroad, performing with major philharmonic orchestras nationwide, a whirlwind European tour of prestigious jazz festivals with the Woody Herman Orchestra, and several engagements at Manhattan’s legendary Birdland jazz club backed by the Nelson Riddle Orchestra.  Most recently, Steve comes to the resort following a hugely successful week with Peter Nero and the Philly Pops in a “Celebration of Ol’ Blue Eyes” sell out at Philadelphia’s prestigious Kimmel Center.

Steve’s “Simply Sinatra” tribute has consistently drawn loyal Sinatra devotees who’ve been converted to enthustic Lippia fans, greeting his infrequent AC appearances with cheers and standing ovations.  Rather than being lost in the Sinatra mystique, Steve emerges as a talented performer whose personal charisma has charmed audiences of all ages and demographics

With his new show at the Hilton, Lippia expands his exploration of America’s rich musical heritage.  “Sinatra + Friends” with Steve Lippia and his big band – an evening of swinging and sentimental music from Sinatra to Bennett, Bobby Darin and Nat King Cole – promises Steve’s distinctive interpretation of the classic legacy of some of our greatest pop artists.

Showtimes at the AC Hilton are Sunday, May 3, through Thursday, May 7, 7 p.m. each evening.  Tickets are $20, available through Ticketmaster at 1-800-736-1420 or visit  For further information, see

Heard him at Birdland a few years ago. Remarkable sound. I also was impressed because he didn't try to be pseudo-hip like other Sintra stylists.
