It’s hard to imagine Madonna getting nervous before a performance. But that’s exactly what the Material Girl told reporters when asked about her upcoming halftime gig at Sunday’s Super Bowl XLVI.
Madonna likened the performance to “giving a sermon” and admitted she was terrified at the thought of being on stage in front of so many people. Last year’s Super Bowl was seen by an estimated 111 million viewers.
She also said that she wasn’t worried about not hitting the right notes or forgetting her dance moves, but was nervous about running over in her performance and the actual stage set-up. Apparently, there is a narrow window – 8 minutes to set up, 7 minutes to tear down – and 12 minutes to perform what she called “the greatest show on Earth.”
No word for sure as to what Madonna will be singing, but she has been known for dramatic and controversial theatrics, so viewers will have to wait and see.
