New Jersey Housewife Teresa Giudice will hold an auction, at her home in Towaco, of her belongings as part of her bankruptcy settlement. The sale will be facilitated by A.J. Willner Auctions and is scheduled for August 22.Those looking to get a glimpse of her life, and maybe snag a few of her possessions can select from many things, including a grand piano, a foosball table, a stainless steel snowplow, two flat-screen TVs, a suit of armor and a variety of chandeliers and sconces. You can view the list at www.ajwillnerauctions.com.
Teresa has been keeping positive about the whole thing, even saying that she and her husband look at bankruptcy as a "fresh start." One assumes that unloading all that stuff will make her start even fresher. She declares that she is happy to have her family and her health. She has four daughters, ages 9 months through 9 years.
Well, there goes the fresh start thing. Because as long as you have little kids, you are going to have mountains of junk. I don't care how many auctions she holds – with that line up of girls, she is going to have Barbies, stuffed animals and Silly Bands coming out her ears for years to come.I have two boys, and every so often, while they are at school, I empty out drawers and bins and throw out garbage bags filled with toys. Burger King giveaways, action figures, board games with missing pieces, capes and swords for dress up. For a few days it feels great. Then someone has a birthday, and they get a couple of Lego sets, each with 900 pieces, and the rooms are a mess all over again.
I'll bet Teresa would love the opportunity to get rid of the molded plastic turtle sandbox or the molded plastic kitchen set with all that pretend food little kids like to cook. I bet when she leaves her house, she will throw out 50 stuffed animals and say they "got lost in the move" like my sister-in-law just did.
She has a suit of armor. I have six Buzz Lightyears. She has a poker table, a foosball table, a pool table, and a bar height gaming table. I have a pool table, too. It's in the garage, dismantled, because my husband and I can't agree on what to do with it.
Teresa and I have nothing in common, except two things. We're both New Jersey housewives, and we both have too much stuff.
