Woody Allen’s publicists, 42d West, has announced the cast of his latest untitled film, which will star Alec Baldwin, Cate Blanchett, Louis C.K., Bobby Cannavale, Andrew Dice Clay, Michael Emerson, Sally Hawkins and Peter Sarsgaard. Co-stars will include Max Casella and Alden Ehrenreich. It is a Gravier Productions film produced by Woody Allen’s long-time producers, Letty Aronson and Stephen Tenenbaum.
After filming in Barcelona, Paris and Italy, Woody will shoot in two other major cities, both in the U.S. Beginning this summer, Mr. Allen will begin filming in New York and San Francisco beginning this summer. This is Woody’s second time directing in San Francisco; his directing debut, 1969’s “Take the Money and Run,” was also set there.
Woody Allen ha been doing some of his best work in the last few years. Last year he won an Academy Award for best original screenplay for “Midnight in Paris.”
He has been nominated for 22 times for Oscars and won four times, including for best director for “Annie Hall” in 1978 and best writing screenplay for “Hannah and Her Sisters” in 1986.
His next film is “To Rome With Love,” to be released on June 22 by Sony Pictures Classics. The film stars Ellen Page, Jesse Eisenberg, Alison Pill, Penelope Cruz, Greta Gerwig, who is so sensational in “Lola Versus,” Judy Davis, Roberto Benigni, and Mr. Baldwin.
