Rumors, true or not, have begun to fly again around Whitney Houston. Reports are saying this morning that the New Jersey born singer has been diagnosed with the early stages of emphysema.
The National Enquirer reported that doctors told Houston if she does not completely stop smoking, the illness will take her life.
According to popeater.com, Houston, originally from Newark, canceled a number of European tour shows in April 2010 due to a respiratory infection. The tour was put together in support of Houston's 2009 comeback album, 'I Look To You' -- her first album release in seven years.
But a representative for Houston completely denied the reports, telling E! Online they were "completely untrue."
Rumors may have started because Houston has had health problems in the past. Earlier this year, Houston's representative had confirmed that Whitney again returned to a rehab center as part of her battles with addiction. In 2010 she sat out the European shows on doctors' orders after developing the upper respiratory infection.
According to the Herald Sun, Houston’s promoter revealed that the singer smokes while she was on her Australian tour. But Andrew McManus said Houston would not have her throat problems treated.
