Richie Sambora left the Bon Jovi world tour in April for what was labeled “personal reasons,” but the differences between he and band frontman Jon Bon Jovi have suddenly come out into the open.
Jon Bon Jovi has left the impression that Sambora may be dealing with substance problems, as had been the case in 2011 when he missed shows.
Bon Jovi said, according to the London Evening Standard, “It’s getting more and more difficult every day to not just sit here and say something... He’s been through it before, fortunately for us the same guy who filled in last time was available this time.”
“You have a choice — you either figure it out, not only survive but thrive. Or, you say, ‘I hate my brother and I’m gonna quit the band,’ ”he added.
Both band members were born in Perth Amboy, Sambora, who grew up in Woodbridge, insists that he is fine, and working on his fashion company, Nikki Rich.
“I don’t have any major problems in life right now,” Sambora said, according to WFJA Classic Hits. “My opinion is Jon wants to see if he can pull off stadiums by himself. “
“Jon needs to stop talking about me publicly,” he continued. “He is making it very difficult for me to come back. The fans have paid money to see Bon Jovi and right now, they’re not getting the whole deal.“
That being said, Sambora hinted that that he might appear at a Bon Jovi performance scheduled for July 5 if the two can settle their differences by that time.
He said, according to The Sun, "I would love to be in London for the Hyde Park Bon Jovi show... Let's see what happens."
Sambora clarified his position on Twittter this week, writing , “I've been running the fashion company for 5 Yrs. It does not take me away from the band, I'm an artist first. Always will be.”
“Just don't worry... Everything's good....”
