HBO series “Game of Thrones” returns on April 1, and the Simpsons of Springfield appear to be fans.
"The Simpsons" changed their opening sequence to pay tribute to the series, based on the books by George R. R. Martin. The animated series often changes its opening credits, but a huge couch and three-eyed crows are always a nice touch.
According to the Los Angeles Times, before Simpson’s episode "Exit Through the Kwik-E-Mart," Moe's and the Kwik-E-Mart suddenly rise from the ground like clockwork, reminiscent of the "Game Of Thrones" opening.
And similar to the Westeros, Mr. Burns' house is renamed Burns Landing and the Simpson couch turns into: “The Couch.”
According to Cinema Blend, the background music is similar to that of the “Game of Thrones” theme, and parts of Springfield rise up with mechanical wheels, and the map shows notable Springfield locations like Evergreen Terrace and Springfield Gorge.
The opening of "Game of Thrones" airs with slight variations in every episode. The locations used in that episode are included in the sequence.
