So if Donald Trump tells Lou Ferrigno he’s fired, will Ferrigno turn into the Incredible Hulk?
We might soon find out.
Ferrigno, the body builder who starred as “The Incredible Hulk” in the TV series from the late 1970s-early ‘80s, is among the cast of the Trump’s “Celebrity Apprentice” show, which begins its new season on NBC starting Feb. 12 at 9 p.m.
Joining Ferrigno will be 17 other personalities, ranging from athletes to actors to entertainers. Although the show was filmed this past fall in New York City and the names of the competitors were leaked at the time, Trump made the official announcement of who will vie for the “Celebrity Apprentice” crown on Feb. 4, ajc.com reported.
One of the other contestants, insult comic Lisa Lampanelli, made some pre-show waves on Jan. 5 when she tore into NBC for giving two of her rivals preferential treatment, the New York Daily News reported.
The News said that Lampanelli complained to TMZ.com about the seats NBC provided her at a Knicks game at Madison Square Garden, saying they were inferior to those given to Teresa Giudice of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” and Miss Universe 2008 Dayana Mendoza. They got courtside seats, she said, while Lampanelli wound up rows back.
“We killed ourselves literally all day promoting for the show,” Lampanelli told TMZ. “Well, guess what NBC, you owe me a big f— apology.”
Besides those four, ajc.com reported, the contestants will be first “American Idol” runner-up Clay Aiken, former racecar driver Michael Andretti, actress Tia Carrere, comedian Adam Carolla, singer Debbie Gibson, reality TV star Victoria Gotti, former talk show host Arsenio Hall, comic magician Penn Jillette, singer Aubrey O’Day, Twisted Sister star Dee Snider, former “Star Trek” actor George Takei, Paul Teutul of “American Chopper,” former supermodel Cheryl Tiegs and actress-model Patricia Velasquez.
Who will be the favorite? Lampanelli has no doubts. The News reported that she asked TMZ, “You think anyone is watching that 'Celebrity Apprentice' for anybody except me and a couple other people who really keep the ball rolling?”
