Frizel Barrier killed by NJ Transit train in Paterson

Frizel Barrier killed by NJ Transit train in Paterson

An unidentified man placed his head on the tracks in front of the Port-Jervis-bound Main Line train that was coming from the Paterson station. He was later identified as Frizel Barrier, a 53-year old resident of Paterson.

According to Roonte.com, Barrier did not try to move as the train approached. The cause of death is still under investigation.

William Smith, the NJ Transit spokesman, said that it happened around 11 p.m. near the Straight and Governor Streets, according to NorthJersey.com. Barrier's death is the seventh by a NJ Transit train this year.
