The Republican Governors Association announced today that it will release a 20 plus minute film highlighting the election of Governor Chris Christie and his first eight months in office.

The film will debut Wednesday, September 8 at E Street Cinema in Washington, D.C. as well as online.

"Chris Christie's campaign, transition and first eight months in office is a case study of how the RGA, our candidates and governors are reviving the Republican Party," said RGA Executive Director Nick Ayers.

Christie's tough talk on spending and public employee perks have earned him a tough reputation in some quarters of New Jersey, but national conservatives see in him the future of the party.

"Few people in January of 2009 gave us a chance to win a state (President) Obama had just carried by nearly 15 points, and even fewer thought a Republican could fundamentally change a state dominated by Democrats," said Ayers. "But Chris Christie and the RGA adopted a "no excuses' mentality and proved the pundits wrong."

According to the Courier Post, the film is part of the RGA's Remember November campaign effort to prod Republicans to turn out the vote this fall. The GOP is banking on voter discontent and a fired-up base in an attempt to flip dozens of seats and take back the House.

The film about Christie, "A New Jersey," is the longest film produced so far in the series.

A new Quinnipiac poll released Thursday shows Christie's approval rating rising to 51 percent of voters versus 36 percent who disapproved. Slightly more than half of the voters polled described Christie as a "leader" while 43 percent called him a "bully."

The Associated Press reports that the RGA invested $7 million in Christie's 2009 gubernatorial race.

"Over the last 18 months, this model has shown the path forward for our Party," Ayers said at rga.org. "Americans are begging for political leaders who will reduce spending and impose fiscal sanity, and Chris Christie is delivering."

A preview of the film is available by visiting www.RememberNovember.com.

Chris Christie is the best thing to happen to Jersey and the national political spectrum in a long time. No one has been as true to their word as this man and such a force for REAL hope and change. The only people who do not like him are people sucking off the taxpayers and their unions.

....should be White Knight, sorry. I should have hit 'preview' instead of 'post'.

But Nick Ayers is STILL a 26-year-old paid shill for the Republican Governors Association, that's all. He's not a film-maker, he put together nothing more than a political ad, and no he hasn't vaulted Christie to Hollywood stardom.

How is making a 20-minute infomercial with some of Rupert Murdoch's million-dollar contribution the same as film-making? Someone really should be editing these columns more closely if this website wants to make the leap into the big-time.

And once again, a columnist spouting here makes the huge leap that Christie is the White Night that will transform a national party that for the past 30 years has given away the store to unregulated corporate pirates.

How do you know that Christie's brand of independence would even be welcomed inside Beltway GOP circles? They are not exactly the biggest of tents these days.
