Governor in new role as group's vice chairman

Gov. Chris Christie will be in Orlando, Fla. Tuesday through Thursday for the annual meeting of the Republican Governors Association.

Christie will be in a new role as vice chairman of the group. He was elected to the position on Sept. 7 and is second only to Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell, the chairman.

"This new role is a great opportunity to ensure that the good ideas already reforming the way state government works take hold across the country," Christie said at the time.

On Wednesday afternoon, McDonnell and Christie will be joined by their fellow Republican governors for a press briefing.
