A New York City judge ruled that two boys, allegedly involved in a shopping cart prank gone awry, would remain in the custody of child services agency until trial. The judge’s ruling came despite a statement from one of the boys’ mother who said her son expressed remorse and a lawyer who downplayed the incident as a youthful caper and added that the 12-year-old did not mean to harm anyone.
Both were taken into custody Sunday, reported NJ.com. The incident occurred at a Manhattan shopping center where the 12-years-old boys allegedly shoved a metal cart off a pedestrian walkway sending it crashing onto a 47-year-old woman below. The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, remains in critical condition at an undisclosed hospital, said the APP.com.
