2011 NFL Draft: Indianapolis Colts analysis and prediction

coltshel042611_optWHERE THEY NEED HELP: Offensive line, defensive line, secondary/safety

ANALYSIS: Payton Mannings play calling covers up a lot of weaknesses on offense, and one was the offensive line. The Colts running game was still 29th in the league. On defense, Indianapolis was 25th in run defense. The Colts need a permanent replacement at safety for Bob Sanders who was released this off season due to injuries.

WHAT THEY SHOULD DO: If the Colts address the offensive line, the best available lineman would be Gabe Carimi of Wisconsin or Tyron Smith of USC. If they look to the defense then Corey Liuget or Stephen Paea or Oregon State are top remaining linemen.

WHERE THEY ARE EXPECTED TO USE THE FIRST PICK: As much as the Colts need help at defensive line, you protect the franchise. The Colts draft Carimi who gives them their best tackle since Tarik Glenn retired after the 2006 season.
