SETON HALL NOTES: Seton Hall (12-8, 3-6) is coming off an 81-71 loss at No. 2 Villanova on Tuesday. The Pirates were neck-and-neck with the Wildcats for 30 minutes before Villanova pulled away at the end. Junior Jeremy Hazell scored a game-high 32 points for Seton Hall. For the season, Hazell leads the Pirates and ranks second in the conference with 23.0 points per game. Herb Pope leads the Big East with 11.2 rebounds per game in his first season in a Pirates uniform. With seven assists vs. Villanova, senior Eugene Harvey moved into third place on the Pirates' career list.

PITTSBURGH NOTES: The No. 22-ranked Panthers (16-6, 6-4) enter the game with a 16-6 overall record and a 6-4 mark in the Big East, but have lost four of their last five games. One of those losses came at Seton Hall on Jan. 24, a 64-61 setback. Most recently, Pittsburgh fell at West Virginia 70-51 on Wednesday. Sophomore Ashton Gibbs continues to lead the way for the Panthers averaging 16.5 points per game. Gibbs had 23 points earlier this year against the Pirates. Despite Pittsburgh's recent woes, they're still an impressive 11-1 at home.

THE SERIES: Seton Hall and Pittsburgh will meet for the second time in 13 days and 50th time in history on Saturday. The Panthers own a 29-20 all-time series lead and are 18-5 all-time against Seton Hall at home. Earlier this season, Seton Hall defeated Pittsburgh, then ranked No. 9 in the nation, 64-61. It marked their first victory over a Top-10 team in the Bobby Gonzalez era. It also snapped a three-game losing streak to Pitt.

The Pirates shot well (43.3%) and took care of the ball, but were out-rebounded, 50-to-31, which contributed to the loss. Seton Hall played extremely well for 31 minutes as they were tied with the Wildcats, 62-62, with just over nine minutes remaining.
