For the New York Giants secondary, it’s go time. The embattled groups of defensive backs are ready this time around for the high-powered offensive attack of the Green Bay Packers.

“To me, it’s another game,” safety Antrel Rolle told CBS New York. “I don’t put any opponent on a pedestal. I understand they have a lot of weapons on this team and they are an awesome opponent, and so are we.”

The first time Big Blue and the Packers met this season, the secondary allowed four passing touchdowns to Aaron Rodgers and a wide open pass play off of a blown assignment that set up Packers kicker Mason Crosby’s game-winning field goal. They are allowed 360 yards through the air, which this team is determined to not let happen again.

"We're definitely going to be tested in the secondary, obviously," Coughlin told reporters on Wednesday. "There has been improvement — a plastering effect, if you will. Much better than it was a few short weeks ago. I think that's the growth of the confidence that comes from the pass rush, to the ability to stop the run and then to be able to execute on the back end — knowing full well that naturally there's yardage to be gained but nevertheless that we stay away from the big play."

Cornerback Aaron Ross, who sustained a head injury in Sunday’s 24-2 victory over the Falcons, was put on a limited basis in practice this week but said he will play on Sunday.

The Giants come into the game as the underdog but most people cannot help but think of 2008, when the Giants stunned Brett Favre’s Packers in Green Bay to advance to the Super Bowl. That year the Giants played all 3 playoff games on the road before ending up in the Super Bowl.

This year, the fate of the Giants playoff run will depend on the secondary and if they can stop the Pack, we all just may see them in NFC Championship game next week.
