Also states he roots for New York's Mets, Rangers and Knicks

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie may have just lost a boat load of supporters, but it had nothing to do with his politics.
"Listen, I grew up in the early 1970s and became a huge Roger Staubach fan and a Cowboys fan," Christie told The Star-Ledger recently in a report about the Garden State's sports. "Believe me, it doesn't get me anything political around here because the Giants fans hate me, the Eagles fans hate me, it doesn't matter. But you grow up rooting for a team. That's just the way it works."
Maybe so, but Christie, who has taken a lot of heat for his political blitzing on pension reform, teacher contracts and tax policies, might have used a bit more tact when talking about his favorite teams.
"I don't nuance much very well," he said. "You know what? I always hated Hillary Clinton wearing a Cubs hat or a Yankees hat. I'm a Cowboys fan, I'm a Mets fan, I'm a Rangers fan, I'm a Knicks fan."
Christie stated that although the Devils and Nets play here in New Jersey, his boyhood memories come first.
"I grew up when the Nets were on Long Island and the Devils didn't exist. It's not that I don't want the Devils to do well. I want them to do well when they're playing anybody but the Rangers. That's who I grew up rooting for," he said, adding that he is a "secondary Jets fan" because his son roots for them.
With both the Giants — major rivals of the Cowboys — and Jets having started their summer mini camps, football season is not that far off. It should be an interesting season both on the gridiron and in Trenton.

I'm a lifelong republican and I will have problems voting for Christie in the future. I wish I were kidding.
Dallas fans cannot be trusted
Christie should renounce his fandom of the hated NY Rangers at once.
The Devils represent Jersey and are proud of it.
