The secret is out at the New York Jets training camp with Tim Tebow being put to the test with the wildcat formation.
The Jets brought out the wildcat formation at training camp on Monday for the first time heading into the 2012 season with Tebow along in the practices. According to Yahoo! Sports, the Jets wildcat plays are meant to be a secret since the media was prohibited from tweeting or mentioning anything related to the team’s closed practice. Media members were given rules by the Jets with restrictions about the wildcat.
Tebow got his first opportunity to practice the wildcat with the team and after practice Tebow was excited.
“Well, it’s fun,” said Tebow to the Associated Press. “Anytime you get the opportunity to go out there and run around a little bit and play football, it’s always fun.”
Back in March when Tebow was traded to the Jets from the Denver Broncos, the Jets had announced that Tebow would be involved in wildcat plays. Since his arrival to the team, the Jets have said that their main focus with Tebow was to work on the wildcat.
“ I just played the football they asked me to play,” said Tebow to the AP.
