Center to undergo eye surgery
Rutgers center Gregory Echenique will not play tonight nor for likely the next month as he will undergo eye surgery later Wednesday to repair a pre-existing condition. The loss is a big blow to the Scarlet Knights as Eqchenique has been averaging 12.6 points and 7.7 rebounds per game, and was named to the Big East Weekly Honor Roll this past Monday.
His absence will create more playing time and likely a starting position for Hamady N'diaye and increased minutes for Austin Johnson, Dane Miller and leave N'diaye and Brian Okam as the only healthy centers on the roster.
