Professional football players scored big in Forbes' annual list of America's most disliked athletes, reports said Thursday, with Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick nosing out Tiger Woods for the top spot.
America still has not forgiven Vick, whose federal conviction on dog fighting charges garnered tons of negative publicity as well as jail time. He received 60 percent of the vote to tie Woods. But more folks expressed a "strong dislike" for the quarterback than for Woods, whose performance on the golf course has been less than stellar following his messy divorce.
Jets receiver Plaxico Burress was third with 56 percent, followed by Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh (51 percent) and Nets forward Kris Humphries (50 percent). Burress served jail time for shooting himself with an illegal handgun, and Suh was ejected from the team's Thanksgiving Day contest for stomping on a Green Bay Packers player.
Humphries had a tumultuous, albeit brief 72-day marriage to TV reality star Kim Kardashian, which pushed him onto the list.
Rounding out the top 10 list are NBA superstars LeBron James of the Heat (49 percent) and Lakers' Kobe Bryant (45 percent); former NFL wide receiver Tyrell Owens (45 percent), Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez (44 Percent) and NASCAR driver Kurt Busch (42 percent).
