Arctic high pressure is starting to transition towards the East coast, which means warmer conditions are on the way. However, before warmer temperatures return to the New York City and Philadelphia metropolitan areas, cold conditions will continue through this afternoon. Scattered clouds and winds decreasing from the west at 5 to 15 mph can be expected this afternoon. A few snow flurries are possible as well. Temperatures will rebound into the mid 20's to lower 30's for highs.

As the high pressure system shifts off the coast tonight, winds will back to the southwest and south at 5 to 10 mph. Scattered clouds and dry conditions can be expected tonight on through Saturday, while temperatures moderate through the period. Temperatures will range from the upper 30's to mid 40's for highs and mid 20's to lower 30's for lows on Thursday and Friday. By Saturday, temperatures will rebound into the mid 20's to lower 30's for lows and mid 40's to lower 50's for highs.

A cold front will move through the region on Saturday night with scattered rain and snow showers. A wave of low pressure will follow on Sunday with snow showers over the interior, rain and snow showers along the coast. Variable clouds can be expected on Monday and Tuesday. Temperatures through the period will range from the upper 10's to upper 20's for lows and mid 30's to lower 40's for highs.
