Another wave of precipitation is on the way for the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas, however unlike last night where a mixture of snow, sleet, and freezing rain were the results, temperatures will be well above freezing.
A warm front will continue to advance to the northeast today leading to temperatures soaring into the lower to mid 40's over the interior and mid 40's to lower 50's along the coast. Periods of rain will be heavy at times, especially in the afternoon hours. A cold front will follow this evening with additional showers. Temperatures will fall into the lower to mid 30's over the interior and mid to upper 30's along the coast for lows tonight.
High pressure will be in control by tomorrow morning and remain in control through Thursday. A much cooler air mass will be in place as Polar air takes control of the region. Temperatures will range from the lower 30's to lower 40's for highs and upper 10's to mid 20's for lows.
A weak cold front will move through on Friday morning with scattered snow showers expected. Snowfall accumulations will be minor, generally below two inches for most locations. Behind the cold front, temperatures will struggle in the upper 20's to mid 30's for highs on Friday afternoon.
Another weak low pressure system will approach on Saturday with additional scattered rain and snow showers. There is a threat for minor accumulation for the entire northern Mid Atlantic, however at this point I'm not expecting much of an impact from this low pressure system. Temperatures will range from the mid 10's to mid 20's for lows and mid 30's to lower 40's for highs.
High pressure will be in control for Sunday and Monday with Pacific air invading the region. Temperatures will rebound nicely for the period with lows in the lower to upper 20's and highs in the upper 30's to upper 40's.
