An advancing warm front tonight will bring the threat for a wintery mess through early tomorrow morning.
High pressure over the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas this morning will continue to shift into the Atlantic Ocean leading to an increase in cloud cover through the day. Temperatures will rebound into the mid to upper 30's for highs by this afternoon as winds shift to the southeast at 5 to 10 mph.
Tonight, a warm front over the Ohio River Valley will advance towards the northern Mid Atlantic. Temperatures for most locations will be above freezing leading to just the threat for rain, especially for the immediate Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas and along the coast. However, temperatures will be slower to rise above freezing for locations in northeastern Pennsylvania, northwestern New Jersey, the Hudson River Valley, and northwestern Connecticut. While a significant winter storm threat is not expected, ice accumulations of up to 0.10" will be possible leading to slick roadways for tomorrow morning.
Temperatures will rise above freezing for all locations by tomorrow morning which will lead to rain showers throughout the entire region. A cold front will approach by the evening with temperatures rising into the mid 40's to owed 50's for highs ahead of the cold front.
Arctic high pressure will build back into the region by Wednesday morning with clearing skies through Thursday. Temperatures will range from the upper 10's to lower 20's for lows and mid 30's to lower 40's for highs.
A cold front will approach on Friday with scattered snow showers expected. While no significant accumulation of snowfall is expected, slick road ways will be a threat. Temperatures will range from the upper 10's to mid 20's for lows and mid 20's to lower 30's for highs.
High pressure will return for this weekend with scattered clouds expected. Temperatures are expected to rebound this weekend with lows in the upper 10's to mid 20's for lows on Saturday, mid 30's to lower 40's for highs on Saturday, upper 20's to mid 30's for lows, and upper 40's to mid 50's for highs.
