Warmer conditions are on the way, just in time for the weekend! The Arctic high pressure system that produced brutally cold conditions to the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas the past two days, is now exiting to the east. As a result, winds have shifted to the southwest as temperatures warm into the mid 30's to lower 40's for highs this afternoon.
Warm conditions can be expected tonight through tomorrow as southwesterly winds continue to strengthen. Temperatures will range from the mid 20's to lower 30's for lows and mid 40's to lower 50's for highs. However, the warm conditions won't last long as a cold front will move through the region on Saturday night. The cold front passage will lack rainfall, but will feature a wind shift to the northwest and colder weather conditions. Temperatures on Sunday will fall back into the upper 10's to upper 20's for lows and mid 30's to lower 40's for highs.
Variable clouds can be expected Monday through Wednesday as the cold front stalls just to the south of New Jersey. While no rainfall is expected, overcast and gloomy conditions are expected. Temperatures will range from the lower to upper 20's for lows and mid 30's to lower 40's for highs.
A significant rain storm is expected on Thursday with rainfall amounts potentially over an inch with windy conditions. Temperatures will be warm enough to produce rainfall for all locations with high temperatures in the mid 40's throughout the region.
