As a surface low pressure system departs into the Atlantic and high pressure builds in from the west, windy conditions can be expected through this afternoon. The strong pressure gradient will mark the exit of a marginally cold air mass and the entrance of a mild air mass that will bring temperatures 10 to 15 degrees above normal for this time of year.

Building high pressure will produce clearing skies by this afternoon and will remain in control through tomorrow evening with generally tranquil weather conditions. Breezy conditions with winds of 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 40 mph from the northwest can be expected through this afternoon and then subside to light and variable conditions by this afternoon. Temperatures will rise into the mid 40's to lower 50's for highs this afternoon and fall back into the mid 20's to lower 30's for lows tonight. A moderation trend will begin tomorrow afternoon with highs in the mid 40's to mid 50's.

A series of weak disturbances will move through the region on Tuesday night through Thursday with the threat of a few isolated showers. Otherwise, dry and mild conditions are expected with temperatures ranging from the upper 20's to mid 30's for lows and mid 50's to mid 60's for highs through the period. The warmest conditions can be expected in urban areas, especially over the Delaware River Valley.

A strong cold front will move through the region on Friday with widespread showers and even a few isolated thunderstorms with windy conditions. Temperatures ahead of the cold front will be very mild with highs in the mid 50's to mid 60's.

High pressure will return in time for the weekend with temperatures returning to near normal levels. While tranquil conditions are expected, temperatures will range from the upper 20's to mid 30's for lows and lower to upper 40's for highs.
