Brooklyn Nets D-League Team Coming to New Jersey?

The NBA Development League is a professional basketball league that has affiliations with NBA franchises. Teams can send their younger players to the D-League to gain experience and playing time.

Since the Nets left New Jersey for Brooklyn two seasons ago, the state has been without an NBA franchise. A man from Barnegat wants to see that change.

Mike King started a petition on change.org to get a D-League team for New Jersey. His petition reads, “Since the Nets agreement with the Springfield Armor owners are scheduled to end on May 1st, the Nets will be without a D-League team next season. What a better way to pay back the fans than to start a D-League team in New Jersey.”
