Upsets in the NCAA tournament are part of what makes the tournament so special, but many people are “upset” after yesterday’s record setting day destroyed many brackets and sent a few Cinderella’s to the round of 32.
Three teams with a 13th seed or higher all won Friday to cap off a memorable second round. First, no. 13 Ohio beat no. 4 Michigan 65-60. That game set the table for a set of No. 15 seeds to win their games with Norfolk State defeating Missouri 86-84, and Lehigh defeating Duke 75-70.
"We messed up some brackets! We messed up some brackets!" Norfolk State senior Kyle O'Quinn said, according to the Associated Press. O’Quinn was essential in Norfolk’s victory with 26 points and 14 rebounds.
“We even messed up my bracket," O’Quinn went on to add.
At the time, he had no idea how messed up his bracket would continue to get. As the night continued, Lehigh would pull off the second 15-2 upset when they knocked off powerhouse Duke.
