Anthony Hemmings, 27, of Montclair was fatally shot Monday night in Newark in the hallway of a multi-family dwelling located in the 700 block of South 10th Street.

Hemmings was pronounced dead at 9:20 p.m. The cause of death was a gunshot wound. His next of kin have been notified.

No arrests have been made. No suspects have been identified. No other information is available at this time. It is an active and ongoing investigation being conducted by the Newark Police Department and the Essex County Prosecutor's Office.
