WilliamsAntoine_optOn Friday, October 30, 2009, at approximately 11:30 p.m., detectives from the Essex County Prosecutor's Homicide Squad, in conjunction with the Orange Police Department and the U.S. Marshals, arrested a Newark man in connection with a homicide that took place on October 17, 2009 in Orange.

Antoine Williams, 22, was arrested, without incident, at the Six Flags Great Adventure Amusement Park, in Jackson, NJ, after returning to his vehicle shortly after park closing time.

Detectives were assisted by members of the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office, Sheriff's Office, SWAT Team and the Jackson Police Department. Williams has been charged with murder and weapons offenses and is being held in the Essex County Jail in lieu of $1 million bail.

He is expected to be arraigned on Wednesday in Essex County Superior Court. Williams is accused of fatally shooting Quendell Williams, 28, (no relation) of Newark, on October 17, 2009 at the corner of Hickory and Taylor Streets in Orange.

Detectives are also looking for a second gunman, Damon Hughes, 20, of Hillside. Police have not determined a motive for the fatal shooting.

If anyone has any information about the incident or Hughes's whereabouts, contact lead Detective Jose Ramirez of the Essex County Prosecutor's Office at 877-TIPS 4-EC.
