Gov.-elect Chris Christie is in the spotlight Wednesday at the annual Republican Governor's Association conference in Lone Pines, Texas.
After attending a conference session, Christie will join the RGA‘s chairman, Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour, and Virginia Gov.-elect Bob McDonnell for a 6 p.m. press availability.
At 7:30 p.m., Christie and McDonnell will be the center of attention at a Victory Barbecue with the Governors-Elect.
Christie and McDonnell won the two gubernatorial elections on Nov. 3 and will become the nation's 23rd and 24th Republican governors.
The RGA sees their victories as jumpstarting the party's comeback in 2010 when there will be 37 gubernatorial elections as well as the mid-term Congressional election.
National Republican leaders believe Christie's and McDonnell's victories were devastating to the national Democratic Party and President Barack Obama.
Christie will return to New Jersey late Wednesday in time to address the New Jersey State League of Municipalities Convention luncheon Thursday in Atlantic City.
