Study includes possible restructuring of UMDNJ, Rutgers, NJIT
Gov. Chris Christie Tuesday will reveal the findings of a task force he created to examine the state's higher education system.
The governor and former Gov. Thomas Kean will detail the findings at an afternoon press conference at the Statehouse.
The task force was created to examine ways to make New Jersey colleges more affordable and encourage more New Jersey high school graduates to remain in state for their higher education. The task force was also directed to investigate the potential for restructuring the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Rutgers University and the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
The task force was created by an executive order Christie signed in May. The report was delivered to the governor's office early last month.
