In Hoboken the trees are dressed for spring and lovers walk beneath those trees and birds have songs sing.
And former governor and Hobokenite Jon Corzine is in love again.
Corzine this week became engaged to longtime significant other Sharon Elghanayan, his office Thursday confirmed to reporters.
Corzine is 63, Elghanayan is 65. He has been married once, she has been married twice. They have been a couple since 2004. A Newark native, Elghanayan is most recently from Manhattan's Upper East Side and has had a career as a psychotherapist.
Corzine, a multi-millionaire, separate from his wife of 33 years in 2002. He has three adult children. Elghanayan was married to her first husband, Richard Roberts, an Essex County-based attorney, for five years. In 2004, she split with her second husband, real estate developer K. Thomas Elghanayan, with whom she has two adult children.
In 2005, Corzine told The Star-ledger, "She is one of the most stable human beings I've ever met. She got an equilibrium.''
And Elghanayan told the newspaper, she was crazy about him. "Look,'' she said, "I think he's the greatest thing since sliced bread.''
