N.J. Gov. Chris Christie could face recall election in 2012

The O’Neills and Zurofsky have put a petition online calling for the public to support its effort to goad Democratic lawmakers in Trenton, if the party retains control of the Legislature in the November election, not to re-elect Sweeney and Oliver (D-Essex) as Senate president and Assembly speaker when both houses reorganize in January.

The second thing on NJ-CAN’s agenda is to challenge the 20 South Jersey, and Essex and Hudson county “Christiecrats” seeking re-election in November with write-in opponents or provide support for independents who are already on the ballot.

“I’m a member of the Progressive Democrats of America New Jersey Chapter,” Tim O’Neill said. “We believe in democratic principles, not what the party adheres too. We believe elected officials should be held accountable for their actions. We feel they betrayed the democratic principle (turning on labor) and gave Christie a total victory. In Wisconsin, it was the Republicans who attacked labor. In New Jersey, it was the people we trusted it who did labor in. When the people you trust stab you in the back, are you going to stand there and take it or are you going to do something?”

Besides the recall plan, O’Neill said he hopes to see NJ-CAN become a statewide political organization that would run its own candidates against “Christiecrats” still in office when the Assembly is up for re-election in 2013 and in the Senate election that follow.

“I’m a realist, I’ve done this for years and years,“ O’Neill said. “Basically, this is a win, win strategy for us. Even if we don’t win a write-in campaign, there is a chance if nobody is running against them and the turnout will be low. The message we are sending is a powerful one. They will realize we’ll be back next time (in 2021) and be better funded and better prepared.

“We want them removed,” O‘Neill concluded. “They have to realize that because of how they are aligned with Christie and how far to right they have acted.”

It would not be easy but you could lead a country that would follow. The fact that the press would be tough on you is not a reason for not leading our nation.
If you throw your name in the mix for president, I will change my party to republican ( democrat since 68). I will campaign NC for you as much as you will allow me.
I have two grandchildren , I value your feelings about for your family, but for every leader that history called, they brought their family into history with them. I hope our God and your family will lead you into our history of America!!
All the best!

It is clear that the unions are pushing the buttons and / or pulling the strings depending on just how dumb these wack-a-dos are. Two things are still needed in NJ:
1. Right to work laws
2. Ban unions from being involved with employees who are being compensated with tax dollars

Dear NJ Voters.......Christie has had the ambition, courage and vision to save this state. Please do one thing. Look at the debt and the treasury and then tell me whose interest is Christie protecting? Greedy blood sucking unions or the common person who sits on the side lines watching them trying to take down our economic system wiith inflated pensions and benefits. Unions have gone way too far and Christie has stood up againsty their tactics. I will crawl to the voting booth to re elect this man! The mess we are in is Bi-partisan blaming both Republicans and Democrats of the past and do not fool yourself thinking differently.

This is so absurd as to be, well, absurd. What stupidiy especially in the wake of his approval ratings climbing to 50%.

Oh I forgot, the unions and people like Soros who back them, want to create a two class system in the US, rich and poor and unless you can afford 2 million dollar ring for a 26 year year old bimbo, you're in the poor category. Right after George croaks, I wonder what the unions and their henchmen bullies are going to do

Can tables be set up in front of DMV's across the country to ask people comin in to sign these petitions?
The LaRouch people have been planted in front of DMV's for years with their name gathering, andconspiracy theorizing. How about lettting some REAL democracy take a shot?
Set up recall petition tables in front of the DMV's.
Pretty much the only people going there are legal residents with or gettting drivers licenses and car registrations so that makes them qualified to sign right off the bat!

The 1.37 million people required to sign the recall petition is MORE than the combined vote totals of Jon Corzine AND Chris Daggett. And those people came out to vote knowing how close the race would be.

A Recall Petition at the statewide level in NJ is nearly impossible, and there's now way they will even get half that many people to sign a petition.

Union problems can be resolved with two simple actions; Pass the National Right To Work legislation and ban public sector unions.

This is really funny. Everyone screams when election time comes near that we need someone that is not going to do what other elected officials do and really try to turn things around. So Chrisite is doing what needs to be done and now everyone is crying. This is why people have lost faith in our government period! I guess it ok for every body else to get fucked but god forbid don't touch our state workers. Everyone has to pay the price for all the thieves and corruption that has been going on in our government on every level. Instead of wasting time to oust Christie how about someone step forward with a real solution to all this. What cowards. And on a side note don't even mention Florio's name. Its all bullshit.

I can't stand Christie - but this is one of the most ridiculous things I've read recently. What an enormous waste - what the heck is the point of recalling someone already half way through their term? Best focus on the next election and put up a candidate that can beat him. Don't waste our time with this BS.

I apologize if I wasn't clear during our phone conversation, so please allow me to clarify a few points on NJ-CAN's goals www.nj-can.org:
1. our 1st leg of the "DUMP THE CHRISTIE-CRATS" campaign is a petition to the Democratic leadership and the Democratic caucus in Trenton. it demands that Sweeney and Oliver be removed from their leadership positions in the Legislature.
2. the l2nd eg of the "DUMP THE CHRISTIE-CRATS" campaign is the write-in campaign is for the 2011 (Nov) election
3. the message is: "even if we don't unseat you this time, if you continue to put the people of NJ 2nd to the corporate lobby, then WE WILL BE BACK. We will be better organized, better funded, with an even larger force of disenchanted citizens who feel betrayed by those they elected and we will be even more committed to NOT SEEING YOUR NAMES ON THE NEXT NOV BALLOT.
4. the 3rd leg is the "Recall Christie Campaign" which will commence after the 2011 elections.
thank you for calling, it was my first interview.
