The Democratic rally on Sunday featuring an appearance by President Barack Obama at the Prudential Center in Newark will begin at 3 p.m., Gov. Jon Corzine's re-election campaign announced Thursday.
People who want to attend the event should visit www.joncorzine09.com/NewarkRally to request tickets.
Corzine's campaign "strongly suggests'' people use public transit to reach the arena in downtown Newark. It is accessible via New Jersey Transit.
All attendees will go through airport-like security and should bring as few personal items as possible, the campaign said. No bags, no sharp objects, no umbrellas, no liquids, no strollers, and no signs will be allowed into the venue. Cameras are permitted.
Obama will also appear with Corzine earlier Sunday at a rally at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden. Click here for tickets and details. Corzine's campaign is expected to announce the time and attendance details later Thursday. The Newark and Camden appearances will make the third and fourth time Obama has campaigned for Corzine's re-election. The president appeared in Hackensack last week and in Holmdel in July.
People attending either event are asked to bring food donations that will be passed to food banks.
