Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli announced Tuesday that Richard Diggs, 47, of Lodi, New Jersey was arrested on aggravated criminal sexual contact and endangering the welfare of a child charges. The arrest came about as a result of an investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutors Office Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Unit, under the direction of Chief Steven Cucciniello and the Lodi Police Department, under the direction of Chief Vincent Caruso.
On December 28, 2010, Richard Diggs, who is a conselor at Eva's Kitchen in Paterson, was arrested after authorities learned that he engaged in inappropriate sexual conduct with a juvenile female acquaintance in Lodi.
Diggs, who is married, was charged with the following: one count of aggravated criminal sexual contact — third degree crime and one count of endangering the welfare of a child — second Degree crime.
Bail was set by Judge Donald Venezia for Diggs at $50,000 dollars, no 10% option and no contact with the victim, after which, Diggs was remanded to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of bail.
