Rep. Pallone announces funding in Washington
Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-6th) on Wednesday announced a $4.3 million grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation will go to support the National Transit Institute at Rutgers University.
The NTI is a research, training, and educational institute that focuses on public transportation issues. Pallone said the money will support safety and security training, planning and advanced technologies.
“By providing this funding and continuing these valuable training programs, we are investing in the infrastructure of the state and the future of our workers,” Pallone said.
“Specialized training programs such as this one will put New Jerseyans back to work and keep them on the job. This is significant funding that will pave a path to better livelihoods for those that receive it and usher New Jersey transit into the future.”
In its work, the NTI partners with industry and government.
